Duhawk senior shooting gaurd Lindsay Bava added another accolade to her growing list Tuesday when she earned Third Team All-West Region Honors, as announced by D3hoops.com.

The team, voted on by Sports Information Directors in each region, was selected from 676 nominations. The All-Region teams include three teams of five players (two teams if the region has 40 or fewer teams), a player of the year, rookie of the year and coach of the year.

The Montini graduate led Loras in scoring (15.5 ppg) and ranked 6th in the IIAC in scoring and was among the league leaders in FG%, FT%, and 3 point %.

Bava was one of three Iowa Conference players recognized as an All-Region performer. Buena Vista senior Margo Muhlbauer was a first team selection and sophomore Stacy Schutjer of Simpson appeared on the second team.

All nominees are eligible for the D3hoops.com All-America teams, which will be announced on Saturday, March 20 at the Final Four in Bloomington, Ill.

The Loras College women’s basketball team learned Wednesday that seniors Lindsay Bava and Lisa Morrissey were once again selected to the All-Iowa Conference teams.

She also leaves among the program’s best free throw shooters, and is second all time on the Duhawks’ assists (397) and steals (209). Morrissey was a second team pick last year as well.
